Open Festival
Sing at the festival without competing. The open festival runs alongside the competition and is for choirs that do not wish to compete, or that are not selected for it.
(01) The days
What the festival offers
During these days you will have the opportunity to give concerts with other choirs, perform around Uppsala, take part in workshops, attend concerts by other choirs, and watch the semi-finals and final of the competition.
In the evenings there are festival concerts, and on Saturday evening the competition concludes with the prize ceremony and festival concert, followed by a large choir party for all choirs.
(02) Friendship concerts
Churches, halls and squares
Friendship concerts will be arranged with participating choirs in central Uppsala and the surrounding areas. Concerts take place in churches, concert halls, or outdoors in the city’s streets and squares.
To ensure good performance opportunities for all choirs, we may select a number of choirs if the number of applications is high. Notification of acceptance will be sent out no later than 10 June 2027.
(03) Fees
Registration and participation
- Registration fee€ 200 per choir, non-refundable
- Participation fee€ 50 per participant, includes entry to all festival events
- Deadline for registration1 September 2027
- Deadline for final payment20 February 2028
